Ether Mines · Wiki
A block world in Ethereum's colors, built with friends. Everything you need to know, in one page.
Getting started
- You arrive at the Atrium, the sanctuary around the first validator. Nobody can build or fight there. Thea, its guardian, gives you your first objectives.
- Mine a tree trunk by hand, turn the logs into planks, then craft a wooden pickaxe: stone can only be cut with a pickaxe.
- Every block you mine becomes a token in your chest; every block you place remembers who placed it (tap it, or press I, to see its history).
- The objective bar at the top of the screen shows what to do next, and the compass beside it points the way.
- The world turns from day to night in 8 minutes. Nights are darker and more dangerous: a bed lets you sleep through them and heals you.

Chapters
The story comes in chapters: finish every objective of one to earn its Gwei and a title, and open the next. The objectives of a chapter can be done in any order.
Genesis +50 Gwei · a title
- Harvest wood — Mine a tree trunk, by hand.
- Craft a wooden pickaxe — Crafting (E): 3 planks. A log gives 4 planks.
- Mine an ether crystal — The blue ore in the rock. Stone is cut with a pickaxe.
- Pet an animal — Right-click (or tap) a friendly creature.
- Reach the City — Follow the validators path from the Atrium to the great diamond.
- Sleep in a bed — Place a bed, then use it after dusk: it rests you, and it becomes your home.
The Forge +100 Gwei · a title
Crystal answers to crystal. Forge a pickaxe from it, and the geodes deep below will open for you.
- Forge the crystal pickaxe — 2 planks + 3 crystals. Unique item, ×5 mining.
- Open a geode — Below layer 20, in the large caves. Only the crystal pickaxe opens them.
- Forge the pure ether pickaxe — 4 pure shards + 4 crystals + 2 planks.
- Forge a weapon — Craft a Volt Blade or a Pure Ether Blade to fight back.
- Defeat a hostile mob — Shadows lurk in caves, guardians watch dark validators. Fight one off.
The Awakening +200 Gwei · a title
Under everything lies the genesis rock. Break it, forge a validator heart, and give a dark validator its light back.
- Reach the genesis rock — Right at the bottom of the world, just above the bedrock. Only the pure ether pickaxe can break it.
- Craft a validator heart — 1 genesis fragment + 2 pure shards + 4 crystals.
- Relight an old validator — Follow the compass to the ruins, then right-click (or tap) the dark validator.
- Attest a validator — Objectives tab → Validators: visit one of your validators and attest it to collect its Gwei and keep it active.
The Network +400 Gwei · a title
One validator is a spark. A network is a fire. Relight more, defend the Atrium, and face the guardians of the towers and the depths.
- Relight three validators — One dark validator sleeps in each ruin. The compass in the Objectives tab points to the nearest.
- Trade with another player — Open Trade, offer something, and have them accept.
- Defend the Atrium — Every hour, for its first 10 minutes, corrupted nodes converge on the Atrium. Destroy one.
- Defeat the Plasma Core — Climb a tower past the wardens on each floor: the Plasma Core waits at the top, next to its treasure.
- Earn a Genesis Titan Fang — Defeat the Genesis Titan in the depths.
The Merge +600 Gwei · a title
Up in the sky floats a sanctum where work and stake were made one. Its twin guardians never fall alone: strike them down together.
- Climb to the Merge Sanctum — A floating arena far from the Atrium: the compass points to the nearest. Its Beacon Stair spirals up from the ground.
- Bring down the twins together — Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake guard the sanctum. One struck down rises again after 12 s unless the other falls too.
- Wear the Merge Aegis — Open your chest, pick the Aegis, and equip it.
Circuits side chapter +100 Gwei · a title
When you have a moment: the Circuits Complex, east of here, has a working example of every gate trick. Copy them, then make your own.
- Light a lamp through a gate — Craft an AND, OR or NOT gate (Crafting, Circuits), then wire it with cable so its output powers a lamp.
- Build a two-key door — Wire two pressure plates into an AND gate, its output into a door: it only opens when both are pressed at once.
- Build a self-oscillating blinker — Loop a NOT gate's own output back into its own input with cable: no clock needed, it blinks on its own.
- Build a latch that remembers — Wire an OR gate: one input from a plate, another looped back from its own output, into a lamp. Tap the plate once — it stays lit. A working example stands in the Circuits Complex.
- Build a coin flip — Feed a self-oscillating NOT loop and a plate into an AND gate, its output into a latch. A quick tap lands on whichever phase the loop was in — too fast to call.
- Leave your mark: three gates — Keep an AND, an OR and a NOT gate of your own standing somewhere in the world (on your plot: the Circuits Complex is public, nothing can be built there).
Crafting
Open your chest (E), then the Crafting tab.

Tools, weapons and gear
A better pickaxe mines faster and opens harder rock: the crystal pickaxe opens the geodes below layer 20, the pure ether pickaxe breaks the genesis rock at the bottom of the world. Unique items are numbered: each one is a single token with its own serial.
What you wear goes in the Character tab (E): a plating, a helm, gauntlets, leggings, an amulet and boots, each in its own slot, with what they add up to. Each kind of gear helps its own way, and the pieces add up: Volt is practical (faster mining, faster on your feet), Pure Ether hits harder with a blade, Genesis brings your hearts back sooner (70% sooner at most). Mix them as you like: everyone sees what you wear.

Hostile mobs wind up before they strike: raise your guard right then to parry, and the mob reels, open to a riposte. Some worlds can turn hostile mobs off (Settings), not the main one.

Validators and Gwei
- Gwei is the game's currency, kept by the server. You earn it from chapters, mobs, the defense of the Atrium and, above all, your validators.
- Dark validators sleep in the ruins (the compass points to the nearest). Craft a validator heart and relight one: it becomes yours and produces Gwei every 5 minutes, even when you're offline. Three validators at most per player: the other ruins are for the others.
- A common validator earns about 120 Gwei an hour; rare, epic and legendary ones earn 2 to 8 times more. Upgrading adds 15% per level, up to level 10 (Validators tab).
- Attest your validators at least once every 8 days (Validators tab): past that, they turn corrupted and stop producing until you attest again.
- Every hour, for its first 10 minutes, corrupted nodes attack the Atrium: destroy them for Gwei, and a bonus when the network holds.
Plots
- The world is cut into plots of 16 × 16 blocks. /claim shows the one you stand in: gold when free, green when yours, red when someone else's or public.
- Your first plot costs 500 Gwei, then twice as much for each one you hold (1,000, 2,000, 4,000…), 9 at most per world. Giving one up lowers the next price; nothing is refunded.
- On your plots, only you and the friends you invite can mine, build, open doors and chests.
- The Atrium, the City and the Circuits Complex belong to everyone: nobody can claim them.
Chests and trading
- A chest you place keeps its items on the server. On your plot, only you and your invites can open it; anywhere else, anyone can.
- Each tower holds a treasure chest near its top, guarded by the wardens and the Plasma Core.
- To trade, open the Trade tab (or /trade nickname): choose what you give and what you want; the other player accepts or not.
Hovercrafts
Ether Twin Diamond, Pure Twin Diamond, Genesis Twin Diamond, Radiant Twin Diamond, Ether Neon Glider, Pure Neon Glider, Genesis Neon Glider, Radiant Neon Glider. Hold one and right-click (on a phone: the hovercraft button) to get on board: twice as fast, over water too. A Twin Diamond has a back seat for a friend.
Shop and cosmetics
126 cosmetics: 27 outfits, 4 block packs, 6 tool trims, 1 validator skins, 9 trails, 8 combat trophies, 2 event trophies, 6 titles, 19 hats, helmets and hair, 12 capes, wings and packs, 12 companions, 10 premium pieces (sold for euros), 2 emotes, 8 eyes, mouths and beards. Prices go from 180 to 25,000 Gwei, and a few picks are on sale each week. Press Try on any piece to see it on your character before you buy it. Trophies can't be bought: they're won in combat and during events.
Emotes
Gestures everyone around you sees: press G (or the smiley button on a phone), then pick one, or K for a menu of only yours, or type its name in the chat. /wave Wave · /point Point · /cheer Cheer · /clap Clap · /sit Sit · /dance Dance (Workshop) · /bow Bow (Workshop) · /lie Lie down · /seat Sit down · /eat Eat. Sitting lasts until you move.

What's new
Shut down a validator 2026-10-26
- In the Validators tab, Shut down sends one of yours back to the ruins, dark again, for anyone to relight.
- Make room under your three, then relight another ruin to try for a rarer one: three epics, why not?
- What it earned until then is paid first; its seal goes with it.
New faces, and your inventory 2026-10-26
- In the Workshop: five pairs of eyes and two mouths to change your face, a Full Beard and Spiky Hair.
- A new Inventory aisle in the shop: everything you own, by kind (head, mouth, eyes, body, back, trail, tool, companion, outfit, title, emote), to wear or take off in a tap.
- Press K for a small menu of your gestures, and make one at once.
Three validators each 2026-10-25
- Each player can now run three validators at most: the other ruins are left for the newcomers.
- Those who ran more keep their three rarest; the others went back to dark ruins, ready to be relit.
Helms, gauntlets, leggings and amulets 2026-10-25
- Four new pieces to craft, each in three kinds that help their own way, and they add up: Volt mines and moves faster, Pure Ether hits harder with a blade, Genesis brings your hearts back sooner.
- A new Character tab: your character among its slots, click one to choose what to wear, and everything it adds up to below.
- What you wear shows on your character, for everyone around.
Fights that hit harder 2026-10-25
- Chain your blows with a blade: a slash, a backhand, then an overhead chop, each with its arc of light.
- A blow that lands holds a split second and shakes the view; its damage rises from the mob, in gold for a critical one.
- Struck mobs flinch, fallen ones topple over, and a hit you take knocks your head aside.
A world that moves 2026-10-25
- Doors swing open on their hinges, levers tip over, and a chest lifts its lid while you look inside.
- A block you place grows into place; a block you mine flies to you.
- Lie down in a bed, sit on a chair or a sofa, eat at a table: the players around you see it.
Emotes 2026-10-25
- Press G (or the smiley button) for a row of gestures everyone around you sees: Wave, Point, Cheer, Clap and Sit.
- Typing /wave, /cheer, /sit... in the chat does the same.
- Two new gestures in the Workshop aisle of the shop, Dance and Bow: try them on your character before buying.
A new guard 2026-10-25
- On guard, you now hold your blade upright, tip down, in front of you, both hands on the grip.
- A parry shows: for a moment you step aside, the blade raised level above your head. The others see it too.
A new shop 2026-10-25
- The shop now has three aisles: the Store (premium pieces and sets), the Workshop (everything bought with Gwei) and the Wardrobe.
- Each week the Store shows one premium set, with a button to try the whole set on at once.
- Premium sets can be bought whole for less than their pieces; already own some? You only pay for the share you are missing.
- The Wardrobe keeps up to four outfits: save what you wear, and put it all back on in one tap.
Creatures of the land 2026-10-24
- The dunes, forests, plains and snowy peaks have their own creatures now.
- Gas Scorpion, in the dunes at night: it stings from afar with a bolt of gas.
- Phishing Spider, in the forests at night: beware its gold coin, it pounces.
- Pump Slime, on the plains at night: it hops toward you.
- Cold Wallet Yeti, on the snowy peaks, day and night: slow and tough, its blows throw you far.
- Leaves, pink leaves, palm fronds and grass blocks are picked up when you break them, to build with.
- New blocks to lay paths (Crafting → Construction): Dirt Path, Gravel Path and Paving Stones.
- Critical blows: strike while coming down from a jump for 50% more damage, and any blow has a small chance to be critical.
- On your hovercraft, you now turn with it: no more spinning apart from it in a fast turn.
- A player holding the Plasma Pistol now holds it out toward where they aim.
Softer land 2026-10-24
- The edges of steps, cliffs and tree crowns look rounded, like modelling clay: the land reads as one soft mass.
- Grass wraps over the rounded edges, and inside corners curve smoothly too.
- Players and villagers have softer, rounded shapes.
- Your health shows as a life bar instead of a row of hearts: a pale trail shows what a blow just took.
- A creature you strike shows its own life bar over its head for a few seconds.
- Walking backwards is slower than walking forwards.
- Gliding with the Titan’s cape: arms spread like wings, no more running in the air.
- Settings → On screen: hide what you don’t need (position, players online, gear, Gwei, objective, aimed block, names over heads).
The sound of the ground 2026-10-23
- Footsteps, mining and building sound like what they touch again: grass, sand, snow, wood, glass and stone each have their own.
Fairer fights 2026-10-22
- Mobs stop a step away to strike instead of walking into you: your guard and your parries now catch every blow from in front.
- /invite and /kick work again: let a friend build on your plots, or take it back.
- Pink foxes roam the forests again: pet one and it picks you a flower, once a day.
Version 1 2026-10-21
- Your account is your nickname and a password: enter with them on any device to find your game. Got a temporary password? The game asks you to choose your own.
- Plots cost Gwei: 500 for the first, twice as much for each next one, 9 at most per world.
- A wiki, linked from this screen: controls, chapters, crafting, mobs, validators, plots, the shop.
- On a phone: spaced action buttons, a button to ride a hovercraft, and the character stays in view in the shop while you try things on.
- On a phone, drag your finger while firing the pistol to turn and aim.

Animations and models 2026-10-20
- Seen from behind, your blows and your guard match what you see in first person, and the other players see them too.
- Mobs flash when struck, wind up before they strike (raise your guard right then), and burst into cubes when they fall.
- Jumps, landings, runs, swims and ladder climbs have their own moves.
- Every item you hold has its own clay model, doors, fences and plants included.
- Holding jump in the water, you float half in it instead of bouncing on the surface.
- Faster start, and the game keeps where you stand even when you only walk.
Shop, towers and validators 2026-10-19
- The shop sells every look, with variants of outfits, hats, capes, wings, backpacks, trails and pickaxe trims.
- Bigger towers and Merge Sanctum: more room to fight.
- Validators need an attestation once every 8 days, not every day.
The game server 2026-10-18
- Players, mobs, fights and loot now go through the game server: smoother multiplayer and fair fights.
- Front-Runner Boots: worn on your feet, with a dodge (Q, or the lightning button).
- Claiming a plot shows it to you first.
The clay look 2026-10-17
- A new look for the whole world: soft clay shapes, glow, aurora and clouds.
- Guard and parry with a blade: raise it just before a blow and the mob reels.
- Diamond Gliders: hovercrafts to ride, twice as fast and over water too.
- The Mempool: an open-air colosseum and its boss, the Front-Runner.
